Pineapples are one of natures super foods, housing antioxidants that aid digestion, boost immunity and suppress inflammation, they are a fantastic source of vitamins and minerals for the skin. Manganese, magnesium, potassium and vitamin B6 are just a few of a load of vitamins and minerals that exist beneath the pineapples rough protective skin.
This smoothie is a concoction of fresh pineapple, a handful of blueberries,some ginger and a variety of green vegetables. It takes about 5-10 minutes to make and is best enjoyed on an empty stomach. It tastes delightful, and is a great alternative or addition to your morning cup of coffee.
Makes approximately 6 cups.
Use organic and/or local ingredients where possible.
|1/3||Pineapple||Cored, roughly sliced|
|1||Flax Seeds||A couple of spoonfuls|
|4||Dinosaur Kale||4 large leaves (Lacinato)|
|1||Lime or Lemon|
|6-7||Water||Cups Pure filtered|
A Vitamix or Blendtec blender recommended.
These are my suggestions. I am currently using the Red one on the left (Vitamix 5200)
Place all ingredients in blender, cover with cold water
Be sure to place the top on correctly and turn on the the blender, gradually increase the speed to the blenders highest option.
Blend on high for a total of 30/40 seconds and you’re done.
